Low overhead guard forklifts and low mast forklifts are special types of forklifts designed for environments with low headroom and narrow spaces. Their core advantages lie in space adaptability, operational flexibility, and efficiency improvement.

Low Mast Forklifts

I. Advantages of Low Overhead Guard Forklifts

A low overhead guard refers to a protective structure above the forklift cab whose height is lower than that of traditional forklifts. It is usually used in conjunction with a low mast design. Its advantages are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

1. Reducing the overall height of the forklift to adapt to low headroom environments

The height of the overhead guard of traditional forklifts is often relatively high due to safety standard requirements. However, through optimized structure, the height of the low overhead guard can be reduced by 30-50 cm, thereby lowering the overall height of the forklift. This enables the forklift to operate in warehouses with a floor height of only 2.2-2.5 meters, underground garages, or inside containers, avoiding safety risks or equipment damage caused by top collisions.

2. Low height with high lifting capacity to break through space limitations

The mast height of traditional forklifts is usually 2.2-2.5 meters, while the low mast can reduce this height to 1.8-2.0 meters. By optimizing the stroke of the lifting cylinder, the maximum lifting height of the forks can reach 3-6 meters instead.

3. Lowering the center of gravity of goods to improve stability

The low installation position of the forks makes the center of gravity of the goods closer to the ground, which enhances the lateral and longitudinal stability of the forklift and prevents it from tipping over easily. It can also maintain better maneuverability when operating on slopes or uneven ground.

4. The additional components on the top of the overhead guard are designed to be detachable. When operation in a low headroom environment is required, the additional components can be removed; after the operation is completed, the additional components are reinstalled, and the forklift can be used as a normal forklift again.

Low Mast Forklifts

II. Comprehensive Application Scenarios

Low-floor height warehousing: Such as the bottom layer of three-dimensional warehouses, renovation of old warehouses, and underground warehousing;

Narrow aisle operations: Supermarket distribution centers, automobile assembly workshops;

Special height-limited places: Inside container cabins, railway freight yard platforms, and air cargo stations

Low overhead guard forklifts solve the access and safety problems in low headroom environments through their low height; low mast forklifts break through space and height limitations with "low structure and high lifting capacity". When combined, they can achieve efficient and safe material handling in limited spaces, and are one of the key equipment for modern warehousing to "pursue efficiency from space".
